the last Decolonize & Anti-Oppression community workshop of the tour! set for Sunday, June 15th in Vancouver / unceded Coast Salish territory!

Taking place on unceded Coast Salish Territory – Tsleil-Waututh, Musqueam, and Squamish nations.

In solidarity with the grassroots community actions of Idle No More.

Tami Starlight – Nehiyawak (also known as Cree) from the Peguis Nation is traveling from Vancouver / unceded Coast Salish territory to Montreal / Mohawk, Kanienkehaka, & Haudenosaunee territory.

Cost: $5 – $50 sliding scale; no one turned away due to lack of funds
Location: 1530 Canadian Pacific Lecture Room, SFU Harbour Centre, 515 W Hastings Street, Vancouver BC
Date: Sunday, June 15th, 2014
Time: 2:00pm – 5:30pm


– discussion about colonization from an indigenous context within Canada
– Anti-Oppression terminology investigation & circle discussion
– Community organizing, meaningful solidarity building, conflict resolutions & horizontal group/community structures


– the building, workshop space, and washrooms are wheelchair accessible.
– ASL interpretation will not be available for this event. A second workshop in July will be organized to have ASL interpretation, please stay tuned. (email us if you would like to be notified of the event or leave a message down below.)

2014 Decolonize & Anti-Oppression tour planning underway!

hi folks!

we are excited to announce that we are currently in the planning stages of the 2014 Decolonize & Anti-Oppression workshop tour. Tami will  be leaving unceded Coast Salish Territory (vancouver, bc) on May 1st.

so far, we have planned for her to go as far as occupied Mohawk/Kanienkehaka/Haudenosaunee territory (montréal, qc), while stopping in various territories/towns/cities inbetween on the way there and back.

nous sommes ravis d’annoncer que nous sommes actuellement dans la phase de planification de la Decolonize et Anti-Oppression atelier tournée 2014. Tami quittera territoire non cédé de la Côte Salish (vancouver, c-b), le 1er mai.

jusqu’à présent, nous avons prévu pour elle d’aller aussi loin que territoire occupées du Mohawk/Kanienkehaka/Haudenosaunee (montréal, qc), tout en s’arrêtant dans divers territoires/départements /villes inbetween sur l’aller et au retour.

End of tour!

It is our last week of the tour and we are winding down. Tonight we are on Syilx Nation territory / in Kelowna for a workshop!
